Staying sane while job searching

Moody Monday, Week 2:

When Motivation Is Missing but You Still Show Up

Some Mondays don’t start with clarity — they start with resistance.
That “I know what I should do, but I can’t seem to get myself there” feeling.

This week’s Moody Monday is all about honoring the gap between intention and energy — and finding your way through it gently.

🌫️ Step 1: Acknowledge the Emotional Hangover

Job searching creates emotional residue — hope, disappointment, comparison, uncertainty. Mondays tend to stir it all up.

Instead of pushing it down, try saying:

“It makes sense that I feel this way.”

Validation is the first step toward relief.

🧩 Step 2: Choose the Path of Least Resistance

Today isn’t about peak performance.
It’s about movement — even if it’s slow.

Pick the easiest option:

  • Open your laptop (even if you don’t do anything yet)
  • Skim your saved jobs
  • Update one tiny detail on your resume
  • Read one uplifting post
  • Send one low‑pressure message

Ease counts.

Step 3: Create a Mood‑Matching Ritual

Instead of fighting your mood, work with it.

If you’re tired → choose warmth (tea, blankets, soft music)
If you’re anxious → choose grounding (deep breaths, a walk)
If you’re overwhelmed → choose simplicity (one task, one step)

Your ritual is your anchor.

💛 Your Moody Monday Mantra

“I can move gently and still make progress.”
