Staying sane while job searching

Your Remote Crew

Today we are going to be talking about building your support system. Yes, I touched base on this yesterday but today we are going to dig further into it. Building a great support system while job searching is imperative to you the job seeker. You need people to have your back and able to boost you when needed.

First, I suggest finding one or two friends you can trust to be there if you call and just need some boosting. Also, I suggest joining Linkedin.com and build a network of people there that are searching for jobs also. On Linkedin.com there is also job postings that you can apply to. I have applied to a few of them just make sure you watch the wording in the job posts then you will know if they are real or fake jobs, because we all know we hate those fake scam jobs.

You can also seek out mentors they can provide you guidance and support while on your journey of seeking a job. They can also help you navigate you through your job search. They can also help you develop a career plan.

Consider hiring a job coach to help you if you are able to. They can help you unlock your potential and help you focus on the job path that you want to pursue.

Another helpful remote tool is AI I know AI is everywhere but in this case you can use it. It can help you build an amazing resume, help with cover letters, do interview prep and practice. Which with all this it will improve the quality you put into finding that job and you did it all with AI.

Also find someone to hold you accountable especially on those days you don’t feel like filling out any applications this person will say to you ” well what if that’s the one” or “just go for it you got this”, that’s what us job seekers need to hear. Believe me there has been a lot of days that I didn’t feel like filling out any applications and my person said to me ” just do a couple and you will feel differently” and sure enough that day I filled out 15 applications and I did feel a lot better about myself for not giving up.

Start looking into Learning Resources. You can access Career Guides, Salary data, and so forth. By doing all of these things you’re keeping yourself ready at all times because you never know when that phone will ring and you will have that interview or head of HR on the phone trying to schedule an interview with you, so you always want to be ready.

A few things I do in the morning is I make sure I am dressed nice even though I know I am at home and behind a computer but in my case if I am dressed nice I feel better about myself and in my case I never know when I will have that zoom call come and need to be prepared for it. I don’t want to have to hustle around to put something nice on quick if the zoom call comes. I even make sure I have my hair done and makeup on my husband thinks I am nuts but oh well you never know.

Stay tunes tomorrow I will have some more helpful tips to help us all. I hope you are all enjoying this blog I know I am having a great time trying to help everyone out with what I have learned along the way.
